BIBA Assembly: The new International School of Technology and Management

The first BIBA assembly of the current academic year took place on October 22th. Students of the different years attended the meeting held by Prof. Mitchell M. Tseng, Dean of the newly established International School of Technology and Management (ISTM). The main purpose of this meeting was to introduce ISTM, a new school of only 2 months but with great promises of advantages for their students. The BIBA program, in which we can find most of the international students, will constitute a part of this school and may benefit from its goals and visions.

Professor Tseng made great emphasis in the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship and introduced some new projects based on these concepts.

The FCU-ZLC Dual degree, a degree in cooperation with the University of Zaragoza, one of the 10 top universities in Spain, will allow the student to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of both universities and countries. Moreover, the students were informed of two experimental courses: Entrepreneurship 1.0, which will be started this November, and Innovation and Global Trade for the next semester. These new courses will take us one step closer to the FCU-ZLC dual degree.

In addition, with the help of Prof. Tseng as an interpreter, the students of AIESEC presented their organization as well as the benefits it provides to students.

To end the meeting some of the deputies of the college were presented, including the Associate Dean of ISTM Prof. Hsin-Yu Liang and the new director of BIBA program Prof. Ting-Hsiang Tseng, who gave an eloquent introduction to the speaker and Dean of ISTM. Prof. An-An Chiu, mentor of the freshman year, was received with great joy by the students.
